Where does Barnsy live? Good question with an excellent answer. Roaming about gets tiring after a while. Barnsy stopped for lunch slowly realizing that the ground was moving . No hurry to react, Barnsy eventually so that ground shouldn't sped up. Climbing down from the surface Barnsy finds a pipe sticking out. Eyes popping from the pipe connecting to a creature.

This Marv, he is a sea monster with an island growing out of his back. Yes, that is a overgrown hat as a house resting on top of it all. Marv is old and doesn't see well. Barnsy takes care of him and feeds him. Nall lives under the dirt outside on the grounds so to speak. 

Allowing Marv to swim in any old direction at his discretion. Of course if they need to change course, Barnsy just gets out the old fishing pole with a sandwich attached to it to guide Marv to a new path. Such a sandwich was the size of Marv himself just tube shaped. Mutual assured survival among good old friends.
