MY 30 FAVORITE COVERS OF AWESOME SONGS

What does a great song do? Makes a singer or Band, true. Becomes memorable to generations, true. A standard of a iconic style, also true. Also, many many others do their spin on a particular song. The shine of the sun might just a second or fifth time. This is not counting who wrote the piece, just who sang it. And sometimes that makes all the difference. The change of the lyrics; voice; tone; the pitch or just the mood flips everythings into a new kind of speical. This list

TWENTY FIVE THINGS HAVE LEARNED FROM MY WIFE, KELLY

We have been together for over 25 years therefore there bound to be stuff I am going to discover due to the presence of my one and only. Probably could do a bigger list but then it wouldn't be ironic. 25.Do it yourself. I got turned down many many times by publishers as a writer and cartoonist. Finally, Kelly convinced me to start my own website and to start my own daily comic strip series on said website. One better, she convinced me to create a mini comic book series based

Does anyone remember 1985?

Maybe I should be more definitive on what I mean by that? Do we remember the cola wars? Coca Cola vs Pepsi? Sure you do. During this time, Coke rebranded their formula to become New Coke. Added a little flavoring , called cherry to push the brand as more than one street. New Coke didn't work so much as we then got Coca Cola Classic. What did Pepsi do? Had a transforming toy can called, Pepsi Man. Went 3 liters for a while. Otherwise, Pepsi was good as it was. Coke even went t

Just Let It Rain

'Though your hurt is gone Mines hanging on inside And I know, it's eating me through It's eating me through every night and day I'm just waiting on your sign 'Cause I know, I know I never meant to cause you no pain And I realize I let you down, oh yeah But I know in my heart of hearts I know I'm never gonna hold you again, no, no And now I, now I know I wish it would rain down, down on me Oh, you know I wish it would rain, rain down on me now Ooh, yes, I wish it would rain do

MY MOM

Many years ago, when we were kids, Mom struggled with swearing. My sister asked Mom to try not to swear so Mom tried. The S word became ‘Shinny’ or ‘Crud’. The F word became ‘Fish’ of ‘Fudge’. Ass stayed Ass since Mom is not a fan of donkeys due to them smelling like shinny. Taking The Lord’s name in vain was never tolerated by Mom. No replacement word for that one just a stone stare from Mom if you did. Of course Mom is not perfect and mistakes were made. Still love the look

MY GRANDMA MERCER EXPLAINED LIFE ONCE IN THIS MANNER

Took a piece paper and drew what looked to be a checkerboard. Countless tiny boxes going up and down of different sizes with misshaped sides. Then she filled in one little box. ‘Multiply this by a Million and multiple that by another ten times than maybe you will start get close to the amount of people and possibility there are in this world that is constantly changing. People are born and die every second of the day thus changing every second of a day. Shifting every little

RANKING BEST DOCTOR AND COMPANION DUOS FOR THE FIRST SEVEN ERAS OF DOCTOR WHO (1963-1989)

The series, 'Doctor Who', has been in existence since 1963 and has been driven by constant change. The Doctor is a time traveler with the ability to stab off death by regenerating. Turning into a new person with the same memories acquired before. Same person with a new shell. Every since that first story, The Doctor has not traveled alone. The companions serve a important part to the series. The audience is represented by the companions. The ones to ask the questions; help s

SINGERS THAT SHOULD BE ON AMERICAN CURRENCY

American money is quite ugly if you think about it. Dull green with stamps and numbers scattered all over the place. Ugh. Its reading a bloody textbook on numbers. And the folks on the money. I like the 'In God We Trust' and that should stay on our currency. The faces of all those politicians we can do without. No wonder most are going to debit and credit cards, nobody wants those dreary excuses for humanity hanging in the wallet. It's depressing. Got a solution to that. Migh

LOVE THIS STORY

Twenty Five Years today I was okay where I was. Trying to trust God in all things. Trying to be content then and now. I had a job in the Harper cafeteria. I was taking care of my Grandmother, who lived down the road from me. I was also working on my very first comic book. The comic was called ‘The Improbable Barnsy and A Pocket Full of Teeth’. Barnsy, as many of you know is a pelican and is based on me. The main result of the story is Barnsy gets a girlfriend. I started worki

ICONIC YELLOW AND RED FIGURES OF POP CULTURE

1.The Flash (DC Comics) There is a long line of various holders of the name. Besides having super speed, The Flash name comes with a predominately red costumes with a yellow lightning bolt on the chest; yellow piping on the glove's yellow boots and lightning bolts on the mask itself. No slouch in the powers department. Fast reflexes; thinking; healing factor; shifting velocity to effect impact; vibrating through solid matter and time travel. All by just running fast. 2. Iron

THE REPAIR MANUAL

Yes, you are undefinable; limitless and beautifully wonderful. Unique in all ways never to be another exactly like you are. Similar but not replicated. Hurt no one or yourself. Surround yourself with God’s kindness; forgiveness and love. Remember Christ hasn’t forgotten you. The ripples find you, to carry you along in time to where we belong. God is not a clock watcher but does listen offering us all the tools we need. Even if we cannot see it. We are drawn together to live n
