MY FAVORITE TEN RANDOM ONE NAMED SINGERS
These are all great visual songs. Really hit it with storytelling. Memorable for the movies they were in or the theme. Maybe also because the singers were going by one name. Different one names but still one name. 1.Seal - 'Kiss From A Rose' Loved 'Batman Forever' and loved this song. Though it was not made purposely for the film, it fit perfectly. It describes Batman. The side of him that lives because there is a light of hope still functioning within. 2. Madonna - 'Crazy For You' Not a fan of the film, 'Vision Quest' Very 1980's with a coming of age story but I found boring. That until I heard the best Madonna song for it. She hit every mark with it. That is the song you dance slowly dance with somebody. I speak from experience. 3. Cher - 'If I Could Turn Back Time' A universal apology for messing up with that power that Cher has in her voice. We can all relate to it. We all have those moments are both sides. 4. Prince - 'Purple Rain' The movie is fun. The song totally shows that Prince could be very visual with words. The guitar work is awesome especially at the end. By the way, hate the fact that radio stations trim the end instrumental down to 30 seconds. It soul music and you are ripping said soul out of the song. Idiots. 5. Pink - 'Try' This woman has such a powerful voice it isn't even funny. A song that can only come from a woman who has carried hurt which she would not allow to break her. Pink has this way of singing that feels she is talking directly to you. Not lyrics but words that will snap out of whatever you are feeling. Quite universal. 6. Adele - 'Hello' Didn't like this song at first. It was played a lot and at first thought it was a bit selfish. A woman wanted forgiveness from her ex boyfriend for leaving him behind for fame. He doesn't answer her calls and she is proud she tried at least. Good for her. Problem is the hurt may not be gone. I like the song as I understand it better. Kind of like Phil Collin's I Wish It Would Rain'. All she wants is forgiveness. First impression her didn't work but grew on me. 7. Sting - 'Fields of Gold' A lovely philosophical song about experiencing the little moments of life. But this be honest, are surprised. After all this is Sting we are talking about. 8. Bono - 'With or Without You' Great song but a puzzle. Life doesn't good either side of the coin. Hurts without her and hurts with her. Kind of goes with the idea of what you want that you can't have. Better said, be careful what you want. 9. Martika - 'Toy Soldiers' It was a song speaking of the drug culture of the 1980's. Martika was one of the first of the cast of 'Kid Incorporated' the series, to have success in main stream music. She sang with passion that could only of been brought out by a woman that was able to touch such a kind of emotion. 10. Limahl - 'Neverending Story' Loved the original movie. It didn't need sequels. One complete story in one perfect stroke. And of course everyone who saw it, remembers the song at the end. It was contemporary rock or even a movie soundtrack. It was one of those songs you hear on your way home from school on Friday in October. Yeah, maybe it's just me. Fantastic.
