ICONIC YELLOW AND RED FIGURES OF POP CULTURE

1.The Flash (DC Comics)

There is a long line of various holders of the name. Besides having super speed, The Flash name comes with a predominately red costumes with a yellow lightning bolt on the chest; yellow piping on the glove's yellow boots and lightning bolts on the mask itself. No slouch in the powers department. Fast reflexes; thinking; healing factor; shifting velocity to effect impact; vibrating through solid matter and time travel. All by just running fast.

2. Iron Man (Marvel Comics)

Millionaire industrialist; womanizers; scientist/inventor; superhero; jerk with a liking for yellow and red armor. Created originally to keep his artificial heart working, Stark would use his invention to help people looking like a toaster with a slot for a mouth. Not to mention from a distance he looks a piece of cheese. Intimidating is not the wording I would use. The look has changed slightly over the years but still we come back to the sunshine look due to being ICONIC.

3. Hulk Hogan (Wrestling Icon)

Professional wrestler has nothing really to do with reality. Sure, there is plenty of athletics and people are involved but that is where the comparison ends. Much more like comic book come to life which is where Hulk Hogan comes in. I am speaking of the character not the real person who portrays him. Yellow and red covered giant of a man who told fans to pray; train; eat their vitamins and believe in themselves.

He made everything sound epic though we were much of the time completely lost in what he was talking about. Who cared we totally were on board because he was beyond reality? Calling everyone brother telling us to all band together against evil. Rallying us to believe that good shall win. Heck, he could make ordering pizza sound life changing and affirming. In the ring he gets beat up by the bad guys then he would suddenly rise up no longer feeling pain to win the day. As silly as it sounds, we all believed in his words and believed that he was the ultimate hero

4. Winnie the Pooh

Love this guy. A fluffy old teddy bear that lives in the Hundred Acre Woods with friends; Tigger; Eyor; Piglet; Roo; Kanga; Rabbit; Owl and Christopher Robin to learn life lesson including friendship. Loves honey and his friends. Simple maybe but that is not a bad thing at all.

5. Spongebob Squarepants (Nickelodeon) Lives in a pineapple under the sea. Is obsess in being a fry cook. Tolerates Patrick Star as a friend and does absolutely crazy stuff that he calls a typical day. Oh and he can never sem yo pass his boating test. Laughs the whole way through life. 6. Ronald McDonald (Mcdonald’s) If you have ever been to a McDonald's, than you know who this guy is. Ronald will never be lost in a snow storm. Happy fellow that lives in McDonald Land. A lovely place where on the menu items are living and thinking beings. Wonder if they are aware that they are lunch? Also from time to time, we are lead to believe Ronald is magic. Magic; life lessons and a meal. Okay.

7. Pac-Man (Pac-Man 1980)

A little yellow guy, that resembles a hockey puck, running around a maze chased by four multi-colored ghosts. Sounds epic no, but totally addicting. Spawned many sequels and rip offs but imitation is the greatest of flattery I have heard. In most of the earliest versions, Pac-Man had red eyes and later black eyes, shaped like himself, and had red boots and gloves. Gotta to have gloves. It's the heroes code, I think?

8. Bumblebee (Transformers 1984)

This was the kid of the Autobots. The one that viewers, who were mainly children, could relate to. Young; optimistic and willing to help if only to prove his merit. Bumblebees could transform into a yellow Volkeswagon Beetle with a big red Autobot symbol on the roof. Tended to jump before always thinking but clever and human in his own right.

9. Spider-Man - In 2006, Peter Parker got new powers and a new suit too. The Iron Spider Costume was yellow and red with spider arms sprouting out of the back. The boots looked like yellow spats. A gift from Iron Man (Tony Stark). Looked like a power ranger and not in a good way. Looked like an ant more than a spider but cool design overall. 10. Yellow Lion (Voltron Lion Force)

The left leg of Voltron. The entire robot takes five mechanical lions (red and green for arms; yellow and blue for legs and black for the body) to form the Defender of the Universe. Still, I do not understand why the monster of the week just stands there waiting for the robot to be formed instead of breaking up the transformation sequence or running, but okay. The lion is powered by the dessert. Yes, sand is key to its power, I guess. Would think that just makes the gears stall but I am not a mechanic of far universe technology.

11. Pikachu (Pokémon)

Of course he had to be on the list. He is yellow with red cheeks, duh. Except for the awesome, ‘Detective Pikachu’ film, where he was voices perfectly by Ryan Reynolds, Pikachu only says his own name. Quiet sort who can electrocute an adversary in a blink of an eye. I would suggest respect and know where the exits are if you get him angry.

12. Shazam (DC Comics)

Billy Batson, approximately 10 years old, is an orphan who is given the powers of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury (SHAZAM) Saying this word, Billy turned into Captain Marvel, the world most powerful mortal. Also looks like a grown man still with a kids mind. Looks like a oversized piece of cheese. Red costume with yellow cape, boots and a lightning bolt on the chest. A sight.

13.Brain the Dog (Inspector Gadget) The long suffering orangish yellow dog of Inspector Gadget. Penny (Gadget’s niece) is always sending poor Brain to watch Gadget as he goes on assignments to MAD. Let’s be honest, Gadget is a nit wit. He means well but Penny solves the crime and Gadget’s gadgets save the day. The man is a walking disaster. Brain wears a disguise and keeps him save undercover. Problem is Gadget usually thinks Brain is a MAD agent. He can’t even recognize his own dog. I hope Brain gets at least medical benefits besides free room and board.

14.Mighty Mouse (Terry Toons) Red cape; yellow tights; black boots; yellow gloves, no chest logo and red trunks. Powers beyond those of mortal men while this hero is a mouse. A singing mouse to let everyone know 'Here I Come Save The Day!' Lives on the moon watching for danger with a huge telescope. Also rides comets sometimes. And sing operatic with girlfriend, Pearl.

15. Eugene the Jeep (Popeye the sailor)

Popeye has a dog, sort of. Eugene the Jeep was introduced in 1935 as dog who looked nothing like a dog. He could float; walk on any surface; walk through solid objects; turn in invisible and apparently teleport. He did not speak except for saying ‘JEEP’. Mainly yellow with a red nose. Much of the time he was smarter than his buddy, Popeye
