MY FAVORITE STORY FROM EACH SEASON OF THE FIRST TWENTY SIX YEARS OF DOCTOR WHO

1 'AN UNEARTHLY CHILD' (1963) First Doctor The very first story of the sci-fi series. School teachers, Ian and Barbara, discover that their student, Susan, is extraordinary in her knowledge of history and science. This leads to them discovering that Susan and her grandfather are not only from another time but another place. The result is abduction and get lost in time in a blue police box called The TARDIS. 2 'TIME MEDDLER' (1964) First Doctor The Meddling Monk is one of The Doctor's own people. He too travels in time. Difference is that The Monk wants to cause chaos just for the fun of it. If so, why in in 1066 Earth in a Viking village? 3 'THE WAR MACHINES' (1965) First Doctor WOTAN is the greatest artificial mind on Earth. A vast computer that can take care of all the worlds needs. Too bad it has realized it don't need to serve people. The Doctor is the only one who can stop WOTAN from enslaving the world as Earth's new god. 4 'THE MOONBASE' (1967) The Second Doctor The Cybermen lurk in the shadows invading Earth's Moonbase, ready to take it for domination. Too for them that The Doctor and his companions have shown up to even the odds. 5 'WEB OF FEAR' (1968) The Second Doctor The incorporeal Great Intelligence leading The Doctor into a trap, located in The London Underground, to drain the Doctor's mind of his knowledge. The Doctor and Jamie and Victoria must avoid the Yeti and keep the military from being a causality. 6 'THE MIND ROBBER' (1969) The Second Doctor The Doctor; Jamie and Zoe have found themselves in the land of reality. A Universe made of imagination and twisted logic. There are no rules to the power of thought? 7 'SPEARHEADS FROM SPACE' (1970) The Third Doctor The Doctor has just regenerated and is now exiled to Earth by the Time Lords. He joins Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart of UNIT and scientist, Liz Shaw,  to stop the intelligence Nestenes from colonising the planet through their use of the Autons, killer plastic duplicates; dolls and shop-window mannequins. 8 'THE MIND OF EVIL' (1071) The Third Doctor A machine that can remove all evil from a human mind. Sounds nice, but where does it go? The Doctor and Jo must deal with this machine that is now killing people at a prison while The Master, an evil Time Lord, is planning on starting World War III by invading a peace conference with nerve gas. Fun! 9 'THE SEA DEVILS (1972) The Third Doctor The Master,  makes contact with the Sea Devil to plot to use them to conquest of the Earth from humanity. The Sea Devils are intelligence marine life in the underground for eons waiting for the time to reclaim their rightful rule. In other worlds, they were here first. 10 'THE THREE DOCTORS' (1973) The Third Doctor Solar engineer Omega, was the originator of the experimentation leading to Time Treveling granting the power to the Time Lord. He now seeks revenge on the Time Lords after he was left for dead in the antimatter universe. As Omega drains energy from our Universe, the first three incarnations of The Doctor must join forces to stop the eradication of life itself. 11 'TIME WARRIOR' (1974) The Third Doctor Sontaran Commander Linx crash-lands in medieval England. He agrees to give futuristic weaponry to the warrior Irongron and his men, in exchange for shelter to perform repairs on the damaged ship. Linx begins to take scientists from the 1970's to aid in his repairs thus altering the time line requiring The Doctor interfere. 12 'GENESIS OF THE DALEKS' (1975) The Fourth Doctor The Doctor and Sarah  and Harry are sent by the Time Lords to the planet Skaro at the time of the Daleks' creation. They are given three options: Prevent them from becoming evil; Prevent them from being created or if need be, destroy completely before they are a threat. The Doctor also meets the creature that creates the Daleks, Davros, a mutated monstrosity that wants nothing more then absolute conquest. 13 'SEEDS OF DOOM' (1976) The Fourth Doctor On mission for UNIT, The Doctor and Sarah investigates a mysterious pod found in the Antarctic. However, the crazed millionaire and plant collector Harrison Chase is also interested, and has sent his violent henchman Scorby and the botanist Arnold Keeler to acquire the malignant alien plant for his personal collection. Unfortunately both pods have infected two human hosts with a desire to feed off the Earth. 14 'TALONS OF WENG CHIANG' (1977) The Fourth Doctor 19th century London, women are being abducted; Giant rats are invading the sewers and a 51st century monster known as Magnus Greel will stop at nothing to return to the future. The Doctor and Leela must uncover the truth in time before Greel's time machine rips the Universe apart. 15 'HORROR OF FANG ROCK' (1977) The Fourth Doctor English island of Fang Rock in the early 20th century, there is a mystery at the old Lighthouse. A shapeshifting alien Rutan arrives on Earth to use the planet as a base in the Rutans' war against the Sontarans. Problem is there are too many human in it's way. The Doctor and Leela must try and save the inhabitants of not just the Lighthouse, but Earth itself. 16 'THE ARMAGEDDON FACTOR' (1978) The Fourth Doctor The planets Atrios and Zeos are involved in a nuclear war in which Atrios is losing terribly. There is a third planet in the middle of the two, there lies The Shadow , a follower of The Black Guardian. Shadow wants to steal the first five segments of the key to time from The Doctor as The Shadow has already located the sixth segment on Atrios. Sadly it happens to be the Princess Astra 17 'THE CITY OF DEATH' (1979) The Fourth Doctor Count Scarlioni, is an alien called Scaroth, who sets to steal the Mona Lisa to finance experiments intime trave. He hopes of averting the accident that killed his racefour hundred million years ago, and splintering Scaroth through time. Problemis that began the existence of life on the planet, Earth. 18 'LOGOPLIS' (1980) The Fourth Doctor Trying to repair The TARDIS chameleon circtuit, The Doctor and Adric go Logopilis unknowing giving The Master safe passge. The Doctor gains new assistants in Nyssa and Tegan, beyond anyones control. A horrivble truth is revealed that the Universe is unraveling and The Doctor is warned from The Watcher that The Doctor may not survive this one. 19 'EARTHSHOCK' (1982) The Fifth Doctor 2526, The Cybermen plot to wipe out Earth, as a conference of multiple planets to form a military pact against the Cybermen, is taking place. 20 'ENLIGHTENMENT' (1983) The Fifth Doctor The Doctor, Tegan and Turlough encounter god-like immortals racing historical sailing Earth ships from through space, crewed by plucked humans they from time, to win the prize of enlightenment. 21 'THE CAVES OF ANDROZANI' (1984) The Fifth Doctor The Doctor and his companion, Peri, becomes involved in a war for control of the life-prolonging substance "spectrox" on the planet Androzani Minor, being fought between the ruthless businessman Morgus and the android-builder Sharaz Jek. The Doctor has more important matters as he must race against time to save Peri and himself from a virus that will cost The Doctor his current incarnation. Opps, spoiler. 22 'REVELATION OF THE DALEKS' (1985) The Sixth Doctor On the planet Necros, The Doctor and Peri have arrived to pay respects to a deceased friend. Meanwhile, Davros is masquerading as the Great Healer and has commandeered a funeral home, the high-tech facility Tranquil Repose, as a base from which he can convert humans into either food for the starving or into Daleks for his new army. Meanwhile a bounty hunter; a businesswoman and spies want Davros dead. Simple enough. 23 'ULTIMATE FOE' (1986) The Sixth Doctor The final part of a season long story, 'Trial of A Timelord', where all comes together? The Doctor was placed on trial for interfering in the course of history which not allowed among the Timelords. The prosecutor, The Valyard, is revealed as wanting to destroy the counsel of Timelords. But something worse, The Valyard is the dark side of The Doctor somewhere in the future. 24 'PARADISE TOWERS' (1987) The Seventh Doctor The Doctor and Mel come to Paradise Towers, the height of technological wonder. Or should be. The place is run down. Girls gangs are playing games; elderly are keeping dark secrets while the caretakers are obsessed with rules that serve no purpose. Then there is the great Architect, Kroagnon, the incorporeal entity seeking substance so kill everyone else. 25 'IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS' (1988) The Seventh Doctor The Doctor and Ace travel back to 1963 to retrieve the Hand of Omega, a powerful device created by the Time Lords, and keep it from the Daleks. The Doctor is manipulating the situation but did not expects two rival armies of Daleks. 26 'GHOSTLIGHT' (1989) The Seventh Doctor The Doctor and Ace enter the mansion house in Perivale in 1883, Josiah Smith, a cataloger of life forms from another planet, seeks to assassinate Queen Victoria and take over the British Empire. The house is full of secrets and everything inside is evolving. The alien, LIGHT, doesn't want to gain power, he wants to preserve his catalogue. No more change. And, why will Ace burn this house to the ground in the future?
