Drawing is not merely a skill. It is so much more. It is Passion; Talent; Practice; Patience; Imagination; Experience and Skill which comes all in time. Draw for yourself. For the joy of creating. If you satisfy that need, it will stretch to others who will also find substance in what you create. No matter how many times you draw the same thing, it will always be different. Uniqueness is in the strokes that builds any design. Never listen to other who say that you are not good enough. Draw for joy and the rest will show up. Here are two of my characters to take a chance on. You will not draw them exactly the same as I do and that is wonderful. Never surrender.

BARNSY BOXCAR

Step #1
Basic wire skeleton that lays out where everything is positioned. Must keep loose as detail sets in, things may change.

Step #6
Time to finish up. Darken in everything that you are keeping. I am using a pen but as you see that with right pressure, you loose the unimportant stuff as you elevate the actual piece bit by bit. Shade in the glasses and coat with your signature on the side.

NALL BOOKMUNCHER

Step #1
Draw out a skeleton which will be rather simple. Nall has a tail used as a foot and no arms. Round head; stick body with a circle foot and an oval behind.

Step #6
Draw a circle through the center to show how the board stays on Nall's back. Darken up the piece and add your signature on the side. Done.
