I love the double act. Who doesn’t? Either you have the polar opposites; the voice of caution to the reckless mover or you have the sidekick backing up the lead. And sometimes you have all three randomly happening. A infinite amount of possibilities.

20. SYLVESTER AND TWEETY

Tweety is the cute defenseless looking bird who is always on the menu for black cat, Sylvester. Sadly for the feline, Tweety bird is very clever if not resourceful. It is always the short cute one you got to be careful of.  Again, cannot help but respect the never quit attitude on Sylvester's part. Dude, learn from experience. Buy canned cause you are never getting that bird.

19. WILE E. COYOTE AND THE ROAD RUNNER

What would one do for a meal? Asked Wile E. Coyote that question. He keeps running about the dessert trying to catch a Roadrunner. Apparently the Coyote has a credit line with a company called, ACME, where he purchases various contraptions to get lunch. Coyote very smart while Roadrunner is just very fast. Unfortunately for Coyote, he outsmarts himself.

18. JANE AND THE DRAGON

Raised to be a lady in waiting in Medieval England, 12-year-old Jane wants to be an apprentice knight in the King's Guard. She embarks on many adventures to prove her worth. Don't worry about her safety. She is brave; confident and clever. If that fails, she can always rely on her best friend. Said best friend is giant 300 year old dragon. Quite to loyal to her as she teaches him her world and he teaches her of his.

17. MAC AND TOSH

Two fancy and well mannered Gophers who spend their time hunting vegetables. Always cheerful even if they are at risk of getting eaten themselves. Life is just so pleasant for these two at least.

16. BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD

Or Metallica and AC/DC as per the Tee shirts. The dumbest duo on this list. I mean it. Neither Beavis nor Butt-Head would be considered 'the smart one.' They spend much of their time watching TV and making fun of whatever they might be watching. Wanting to score with the ladies not realizing it probably won't happen. Their stupidity both gets them in and out of trouble without them ever noticing there may be danger. Beavis, the blonde, is more hyper as Butt=Head, the brunette, is more laid back. They will insult and punch each but stay together. Not necessarily help each as sticking around to see what happens. It's all just 'COOL' to them.

15. DOCTOR CLAW AND MAD CAT

The mysterious evil master mind of MAD. We never see his face, only the back of chair and a silver gauntlet hand talking to his cat. Claw is never successful in world conquest or destroying sworn enemy, Inspector Gadget. That;s a whole different matter in itself. Mad cat does not talk but is a great listener. The cat serves as the audience as Claw tells his entire plan to him in every episode.

14. YOGI AND BOO BOO

Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo are inseparable best friends. Yogi acts as a loyal older brother figure with many a scheme in play. Boo-Boo serves is Yogi's conscience, often reminding him of the consequences of them stealing picnic baskets in Jelly Stone Park. Both are sharp dressers. Boo Boo has a slick bow tie as Yogi sports a straight tie with a green hat. Yogi thinks of himself as very clever bombastic bear. Boo Boo a bit shy but has Yogi's back.

13. MARIO AND LUIGI

They are brothers who live in New York as Italian Plumbers. Mario (wears red) is strong willed ready to leap into action without thinking while Luigi (wears green) is more cautious. They wind up through a pipe into the Mushroom kingdom fighting a giant turtle named Koopa. Their last name is Mario. Mario Mario and Luigi Mario.

12. CHIP AND DALE

Not brothers, but buddies. Chip is anxious as Dale is laid back. Chip is clever; naturally leads the way and looks after Dale. Dale looks for food/fun; a bit clumsy and supports Chip. The smart guy and the not so smart guy dynamic. Both serve purpose as together they make one really good chipmunk. Also, Dale has a bright red nose.

11. CHARLIE BROWN AND PEPPERMINT PATTY

Peppermint Patty has a secret crush on Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown is not aware of her feelings for him as he is dense on the matter. Patty is a Tomboy who calls Charlie Brown, 'Chuck', out of affection. Supportive of him as she sees all the good in him while Charlie Brown cherishes her as a friend.

10. ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE

Rocky is a squirrel, who can literally fly, while Bullwinkle is a well-meaning simple minded moose. Rocky is the lead as he is more clear thinking and heroic. Bullwinkle is also heroic but comedic relief. A lovely cold war duo that always got thrown into the weirdest of adventures.

9. CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY

The round bald headed kid and his pet beagle have a strange but strong relationship. They are buddies even if they do become annoyed with each other. Charlie Brown is long suffering by Snoopy's more humanistic behavior as Snoopy is more like a child himself. They need each other. A dog on two legs hugging his owner, that is love.

8. SNOOPY AND WOODSTOCK

Best friends for life. Woodstock is a yellow bird who flies upside down. Snoopy is his buddy who keeps him safe. They watch each others back having a laugh along the journey.

7. PEABODY AND SHERMAN

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his adopted human son, Sherman use a time machine called the Wabac machine to set off on weird adventures. Yeah, Peabody can walk and talk like person with no one thinking this is strange. Also a dog can adopt a child. Sure. Did I mention, Peabody built time machine too. This world changing with no one noticing. Okay.

6. WALLACE AND GROMIT

An bald cheese loving English Inventor and his silent dog. Gromit, the dog, is actually smarter then Wallace. Picking up on when things are going wrong when Wallace figures everything will be find. Gromit is supportive of his owner in all the crazy endeavor they embark, but much of the time Wallace needs saving. Wallace can hold his own as long as he have Gromit watching his back.

5. CALVIN AND HOBBES

Calvin and  Hobbes are best friends. Calvin is a six year old boy with a wild imagination. Hobbes is a stuff tiger. Oh, and to Calvin, Hobbes is alive. Imagination after all. Hobbes is sarcastic and is the voice reason to Calvin, some times. Together they get in trouble a lot while watching each others backs. 

4. BATMAN AND ROBIN

The Dynamic Duo. The grim Dark Knight that blends into everything. The optimistic Boy Wonder who is green; red and yellow so he blends into nothing. Night and day most literally. A balance between justice and vengeance. Kindness and punishment. Both keep other from falling off the edge.

3. PINKY AND THE BRAIN

These two are white lab mice living at ACME labs. Brain wants to conquer the world as Pinky wants to eat cheese. Brain is a genius and Pinky is crazy. They are friends who do care for each other. The over thought plans never work due to some small detail, but they never give up trying trying.

2. TOM AND JERRY

Perhaps one of the greatest cat and mouse teams of all times. Sometimes allies. Sometime even friends. Most of the time, comedic  enemies that like to do the old chase routine. Jerry throwing everything, and sometimes even, the kitchen sink to avoid being eaten by Tom. Tom is the cat after all and in spite of his size and schemes, loses to a tiny mouse, Jerry, more often then not. Most respect Tom's instincts or stupidity for never giving up. Obviously Jerry is the smarter one. And he is the cuter one too. Jerry smiles as Tom tends to frown more often. Weird to see it in reverse.

1. SHAGGY AND SCOOBY-DOO

The original buddy team. Ones a laid back slacker and the other is a Great Dane. Both are cowards but somehow are usually the ones to save the day. They don't want to chase mysteries. Get terrorized by wanna be ghosts. They just want to eat and have fun. Friends, Daphne; Fred and Velma are responsible for that vocation. Loyal friends even if Shaggy and Scooby might regret at times.
