I have been drawing since I was about two years old. Like to think that I have improved in that time, but who knows? Anyway. I have always wanted to be a writer and an artist. Mainly a cartoonist. Huge comic book fan. Comics got me into reading in the first place. Loved classic cartoon like: Woody Woodpecker; Pink Panther; Looney Tunes and you get the idea. Had some success as a professional cartoonist for a Welsh Newspaper, Y Drych. I illustrated a monthly series about a Welsh Dragon, written by my mom. Did this series from 1995-1997 and wanted to continue in this field. The only thing I ever really wanted to do as a profession.
From age 19 and forward, I sent out continuous sample packets to comic publishers; newspapers; syndicates and either never heard back or a rejection form letter. Had enough of those at one time to wallpaper an entire room plus additional walls. The industry is very subjective. Sometimes it depends on connections but even those are not a grantee. I have made side money at drawing posters; greeting cards; coloring pages and personal commissions for various occasions. I have also given a lot away for free just because I like to. This is a side job which I am able to pour my passion into. 1997, I rediscovered my Imaginary Friend, Barnsy, after I was reminded of him by my mom. Barnsy is a mixed name of Barny and Fonzy. He is a pelican who wear clothes that lives a world of impossible possibles.
2000, I completed my first graphic novel, 'The Improbable Barnsy and A Pocket Full of Teeth' and would be published in 2008 after a long search for a publisher. Wasn't as successful as I was hoping. In 2017, I started the website, 'barnsyink.com'. I am running the show now with my wife and daughter, trying to carve a business out of this little dream. Might not put Marvel and DC out of business as I hoped when I six years old, but I can entertain people. Built a nice reputation so far with my daily comics and self-published collections, 'Barnsy Ink Presents'. Who knows? Maybe I will become a cult classic.

To quote, 'Kiss From A Rose, she is the light on the dark side of me. I met Kelly on July 3rd 2001 and asked her to marry me on September 7th, 2001. Been married for over twenty years and have a pretty good life together. For many reasons Kelly has been a huge benefit when regarding my writing and drawing. Her point of view has helped me tighten up both. It was Kelly's encouragement that got this website created in the first place.
She felt I needed an outlet for my anxiety. Since I had been turned down by so many syndicates and publishers, Kelly thought it was time that I try on my own. Kelly actually created a few of the regular cast members. P. I. Guin; Nall and Grumpy Guppy. She came up with name Dra-Gon, after years of just calling, 'The Dragon'. And obviously, Kelly is the inspiration for, Pudnelopy.
Though I invented the concept of 'The IF Universe', Kelly actually made it mean something. IF stands for 'Imagination Fantastique'. Very practical. and well read. . No matter where she goes. people think Kelly works at the place she is standing in. Will always and never judge. An experienced teacher with an honest opinion never intending to hurt. Puts others first without need for applause.
Kelly helps me with my sketches. She tells me what she thinks. Also she lead me back to Christianity. Kelly even helped me recreate Barnsy's look. Still looks weird but a used car Charlie Chaplin style. Found my faith again. Kelly will now be contributing her common sense to 'THE BLOG' and I think you all will dig it.
JOSIE HOOK Writer-Editor-Head of 'STORYTELLERS'
She is simply known as Josie Hook. Her pen name. She is also my and Kelly's daughter. Avid reader who likes to question 'What If' when it comes to stories and pop culture. She is actually quite good as a fan fiction writer trying her hand at many established characters while creating new directions. She even has her own Alternate Universe where all her writings exist in one continuity.
'The Universe of 113005'. Inhabitants are inspired by 'Doctor Who'; 'Disney's Descendants'; 'Henry Danger'; 'Spider-Man'; 'Batman'; 'My Hero Academia'; 'Scooby Doo'; 'The Invitation'; 'Big Bang Theory'; 'Ugly Betty' and Gossip Girl' Currently adapting a work originally written by her Grandmother, my mom, Terri, 'My Brother is a Porcupine'. New backstories. New supporting cast living in a future time because the past went left instead of right. New locations that contribute to making familiar brand new.
Very good at world building. She invented a penguin for Kelly for Mother's Day one year. Made it out of clay and Kelly called it, 'PI. Guin'. Josie has done a great deal of editing on this website. Fixing the delivery and presentation while catching mistakes. Good to have another set of eyes. She even created her own two Super heroes. 'Ice Hawk and Lightning Mouse'. Ice Hawk is Barnsy and Pudenlopy's Grandson, Puddles' son, while Lightning Mouse is their Great Granddaughter. As of the New Year, 2024, Ms. Hook is now in charge of 'Storyteller' and will profile some of her recent works.
