I was a big wrestling fan when I was a kid and still watch it even now but prefer All Elite Wrestling over WWE though I watch both. In the 80s and 90s, I think all fans were huge into Hulk Hogan. Let's be honest the guy was more fiction then real but we loved him because we believed in him. This guy should of been a comic super hero. He was perfect in all ways. You know he would save the day and right all the wrongs. He had to.
Red and yellow icon who looked like cheese wearing a bandana and a handle bad mustache Was a bad guy in 1996. Black and white and still was cool to many. As we got older we realized he was human and he has made many mistakes as we all have.
Celebrities come in 2 categories; those we think are better then the rest or those we want to see fail. I think Hogan has been in both categories. What am I rambling on about? July 24th, 2015, it was made known that Hogan made racist comments years ago.
The "N" word is a disgusting term and degrading but not only to one culture. I am Caucasian but I find the term wrong and inexcusable but lets be careful about throwing stones at Hulk Hogan cause we have all hurt other people with are words and actions. I have not always been kind to others and others have not always been kind to me.
Hogan has been accused of many lies which yes he was lying about experiences and events that could easily be proven. I think he played the audience in his post wrestling career. He wanted to stay relevant so he gave people a reason to keep talking about. He lied about steroid and cocaine use in 1991, true. He was probably not faithful. Hogan was on his third marriage. He politic his way to the top of wrestling, acquire great wealth. Held people back for his benefit. Seemed to see himself as two people. Hulk Hogan, who was pe4rfect and Terry Bollea, his real name, who was very much not. He did a lot for charities and his fans. Loved his fans. Became a pop culture icon that made wrestling, as a whole, a pop culture crossover to those who may not care about wrestling as a whole.
I am a Christian, a Male and Caucasian, people of other backgrounds automatically thought the wrong thing about me and have verbalized it. I have misjudged people and if I could apologized to each of those people I would. We all can be hurt and we all have hurt others.
The media even supports some of the jokes and insensible words that we as a society should object but we laugh at them until the wrong person says them. I am not defending Hogan but I am asking people to pray for each of us to be better and not be an abuser or a victim. Spending time counting pain, borrowed or owned, is a waste.
We all have a right to our opinions, and I am sure that each of us has a thought we have about other people that is better left not shared or said, but still as individuals we must govern ourselves and be careful in what we say. Today, July 24th, 2025, Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea, passed away at the age of 71. He leaves behind children; step children; Grandchildren; a wife; friends and many fans. He is missed.
And think of this as well. why do the Enquirer and other newsfeeds reveal old pieces of news? Magnifying sinners into saints and sinners into sub human trash? They do not want to enlighten us or show a great wrong, they want to make conflict.
He was Hulk Hogan. A guy beyond human. Fiction that breathed and we loved him for being that larger then life dude.
That's another thing, discrimination is wrong. I agree with that all discrimination is wrong. Then why is it okay to discriminate against God? Discriminate against Jesus Christ? Why is that? God forgives. We should forgive each other. Just forgive and move on. No proving someones legit sorry because we are not God. That's something to think about.
