  • MY FAVORITE TEN GARRY MARSHALL FILMS

Garry Marshall was probably one of the best film makers in my opinion. He had a incredible knack of casting the right people; playing the right and developing character. You wanted to care about these people. You wanted to see them win. Full three dimensions flushed out with human skin. Easily relatable in most cases. Ironically, Marshall only would be behind the camera for about twenty two films. Honestly, he was better known as an actor of Television and film. Quite funny in fact. 10. ‘Dear God’ - 1996 Con man working at a post office answering letters sent to God. 9. 'How Sweet It Is’ - 1968 A dysfunctional family vacation. 8. ‘Beaches’ - 1988 A undying friendship between a privileged girl and a show biz actress through the good and bad times of childhood to adulthood. 7. ‘Nothing In Common’ - 1986 A man must decide what is more important, making business partner at a firm or taking care of his parents. 6. ‘Frankie and Johnny’ - 1991 Two people who have plenty of baggage, that work at a restaurant find a kinship in their bumps along the way. 5. ‘Overboard’ - 1987 Rich spoiled heiress hits her head losing her memory. A cheated out of his money carpenter decide to teach her humility by pretending that they are married. In time, she learns the truth but becomes a better person and real love grows. 4. ‘Georgia Rules’ - 2007 Damaged teenager goes to,live with Grandmother, and learns to face the truth regarding abuse at the hands of her step father. 3. ‘Runaway Bride’ - 1999 Reporter wants to fix his reputation by writing a story about a small town woman who has a reputation of ditching her fiancees at the altar. In the process we see that both are much more a like. 2. ‘Pretty Woman’ - 1990 Rich businessman learns humanity from a prostitute who he hires to stay with him for a week at a fancy hotel. There is a good in him but lacks people skills which he finds along the way. 1. ‘The Other Sister’ - 1996 Carla is the youngest of three daughters to a wealthy family. Her mom does not know how to relate to her as Carla is mentally disabled, spending her younger days in an institution. Carla's older sister is gay trying to find acceptance from their mother and the middle child is spoiled rotten. The truth is that the daughter with the disabilities is actually better adjusted to the world then her family.

  • VAL KILMER

In 1994, I was not particularly happy about the news of ‘Batman 3’. Michael Keaton choosing not to do the third installment of the franchise. He had defined the film adaptation of the character. 'Batman' (1989) was great and 'Batman Returns' (1992) was okay but too violent in my regards. I was doubtful that Val Kilmer was going to be able to fill those shoes. He was great in ‘Top Gun’; ‘Tombstone’; ‘The Doors’, but this was different. This was BATMAN!! Batman is larger then life. When I saw Kilmer in the role, I was not expecting much. The promos looked good but ads can be misleading. I was wrong. ‘Batman Forever’ (1995) was awesome and Kilmer was great. More like the comic book version of The Dark Knight. Not Keaton but that was okay. A Batman who questioned if he needed to walk away. A Batman that needed help. Not sure who he was anymore still burdened by the memories of his parent's death. A Batman that found himself beyond the struggles. Not angry driven but purpose. Contemplative of the obstacles round him. Showing vulnerability. So layered. Still a favorite. Loved the costume, except for the biological accuracy and world building was fun. I am sorry to see that Kilmer has gone home to God. I was glad having him around. He fought throat cancer for over a decade, never falling to defeat. Free now of pain and with God. Cannot think of a bad role he had. A style and charisma rarely seen. He lived his faith. He was a fantastic performer and you believed in him. Rest in God. May peace be with your family. And may you be remembered as Batman…Forever

  • MY TEN FAVORITE QUOTES FROM MY TWO FAVORITE  BATMAN FILMS MADE IN THE 90'S

I loved two of the four Batman films. 'Batman' and 'Batman Forever' are awesome. True to the comic lore. 'Batman Returns' is good but disjointed. 'Batman and Robin' is...weird. More cartoony then anything else, I guess. These are my favorite lines from My favorite two films. The first had a lot more memorable lines in my opinion. 10. 'For if knowledge is power, then a god am... I!' - Riddler to Batman ('Batman Forever' 1995) 9. 'Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But, as my plastic surgeon always said: if you gotta go, go with a smile.' - Joker to Gotham ('Batman' 1989) 8. 'Winged freak terrorizes? Wait till they get a load of me!' -  Joker talks to Himself ('Batman' 1989) 7. 'I made you, you made me first.- Batman to Joker ('Batman' 1989) 6. 'Poor Edward. I had to save them both. You see, I'm both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Not because I have to be. Now... because I choose to be.' - Batman to Riddler ('Batman Forever' 1995) 5. ‘Tell me something, my friend. You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?’ – Joker to Bruce Wayne (‘Batman’ 1989) 4. ‘One man is born a hero, his brother a coward. Babies starve, politicians grow fat. Holy men are martyred, and junkies grow legion. Why? Why, why, why, why, why? Luck! Blind, stupid, simple, doo-dah, clueless luck!’ – Two Face to a Bank Guard (‘Batman Forever’ 1995) 3. ‘Broken wings mend in time. One day Robin will fly again. I promise.’ – Alfred to Dick in (‘Batman Forever’ 1995) 2. ‘Then it will happen this way: You make the kill, but your pain doesn't die with Harvey, it grows. So you run out into the night to find another face, and another, and another, until one terrible morning you wake up and realize that revenge has become your whole life. And you won't know why.’ – Bruce to Dick in (‘Batman Forever’ 1995) 1. 'I have no wish to fill my few remaining years grieving for the loss of old friends. Or their sons'. - Alfred Pennyworth 'Batman' (1989)

  • MY 20 FAVORITE CARTOON DUOS AS OF 2025

I love the double act. Who doesn’t? Either you have the polar opposites; the voice of caution to the reckless mover or you have the sidekick backing up the lead. And sometimes you have all three randomly happening. A infinite amount of possibilities. 20. SYLVESTER AND TWEETY Tweety is the cute defenseless looking bird who is always on the menu for black cat, Sylvester. Sadly for the feline, Tweety bird is very clever if not resourceful. It is always the short cute one you got to be careful of.  Again, cannot help but respect the never quit attitude on Sylvester's part. Dude, learn from experience. Buy canned cause you are never getting that bird. 19. WILE E. COYOTE AND THE ROAD RUNNER What would one do for a meal? Asked Wile E. Coyote that question. He keeps running about the dessert trying to catch a Roadrunner. Apparently the Coyote has a credit line with a company called, ACME, where he purchases various contraptions to get lunch. Coyote very smart while Roadrunner is just very fast. Unfortunately for Coyote, he outsmarts himself. 18. JANE AND THE DRAGON Raised to be a lady in waiting in Medieval England, 12-year-old Jane wants to be an apprentice knight in the King's Guard. She embarks on many adventures to prove her worth. Don't worry about her safety. She is brave; confident and clever. If that fails, she can always rely on her best friend. Said best friend is giant 300 year old dragon. Quite to loyal to her as she teaches him her world and he teaches her of his. 17. MAC AND TOSH Two fancy and well mannered Gophers who spend their time hunting vegetables. Always cheerful even if they are at risk of getting eaten themselves. Life is just so pleasant for these two at least. 16. BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD Or Metallica and AC/DC as per the Tee shirts. The dumbest duo on this list. I mean it. Neither Beavis nor Butt-Head would be considered 'the smart one.' They spend much of their time watching TV and making fun of whatever they might be watching. Wanting to score with the ladies not realizing it probably won't happen. Their stupidity both gets them in and out of trouble without them ever noticing there may be danger. Beavis, the blonde, is more hyper as Butt=Head, the brunette, is more laid back. They will insult and punch each but stay together. Not necessarily help each as sticking around to see what happens. It's all just 'COOL' to them. 15. DOCTOR CLAW AND MAD CAT The mysterious evil master mind of MAD. We never see his face, only the back of chair and a silver gauntlet hand talking to his cat. Claw is never successful in world conquest or destroying sworn enemy, Inspector Gadget. That;s a whole different matter in itself. Mad cat does not talk but is a great listener. The cat serves as the audience as Claw tells his entire plan to him in every episode. 14. YOGI AND BOO BOO Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo are inseparable best friends. Yogi acts as a loyal older brother figure with many a scheme in play. Boo-Boo serves is Yogi's conscience, often reminding him of the consequences of them stealing picnic baskets in Jelly Stone Park. Both are sharp dressers. Boo Boo has a slick bow tie as Yogi sports a straight tie with a green hat. Yogi thinks of himself as very clever bombastic bear. Boo Boo a bit shy but has Yogi's back. 13. MARIO AND LUIGI They are brothers who live in New York as Italian Plumbers. Mario (wears red) is strong willed ready to leap into action without thinking while Luigi (wears green) is more cautious. They wind up through a pipe into the Mushroom kingdom fighting a giant turtle named Koopa. Their last name is Mario. Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. 12. CHIP AND DALE Not brothers, but buddies. Chip is anxious as Dale is laid back. Chip is clever; naturally leads the way and looks after Dale. Dale looks for food/fun; a bit clumsy and supports Chip. The smart guy and the not so smart guy dynamic. Both serve purpose as together they make one really good chipmunk. Also, Dale has a bright red nose. 11. CHARLIE BROWN AND PEPPERMINT PATTY Peppermint Patty has a secret crush on Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown is not aware of her feelings for him as he is dense on the matter. Patty is a Tomboy who calls Charlie Brown, 'Chuck', out of affection. Supportive of him as she sees all the good in him while Charlie Brown cherishes her as a friend. 10. ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE Rocky is a squirrel, who can literally fly, while Bullwinkle is a well-meaning simple minded moose. Rocky is the lead as he is more clear thinking and heroic. Bullwinkle is also heroic but comedic relief. A lovely cold war duo that always got thrown into the weirdest of adventures. 9. CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY The round bald headed kid and his pet beagle have a strange but strong relationship. They are buddies even if they do become annoyed with each other. Charlie Brown is long suffering by Snoopy's more humanistic behavior as Snoopy is more like a child himself. They need each other. A dog on two legs hugging his owner, that is love. 8. SNOOPY AND WOODSTOCK Best friends for life. Woodstock is a yellow bird who flies upside down. Snoopy is his buddy who keeps him safe. They watch each others back having a laugh along the journey. 7. PEABODY AND SHERMAN Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his adopted human son, Sherman use a time machine called the Wabac machine to set off on weird adventures. Yeah, Peabody can walk and talk like person with no one thinking this is strange. Also a dog can adopt a child. Sure. Did I mention, Peabody built time machine too. This world changing with no one noticing. Okay. 6. WALLACE AND GROMIT An bald cheese loving English Inventor and his silent dog. Gromit, the dog, is actually smarter then Wallace. Picking up on when things are going wrong when Wallace figures everything will be find. Gromit is supportive of his owner in all the crazy endeavor they embark, but much of the time Wallace needs saving. Wallace can hold his own as long as he have Gromit watching his back. 5. CALVIN AND HOBBES Calvin and  Hobbes are best friends. Calvin is a six year old boy with a wild imagination. Hobbes is a stuff tiger. Oh, and to Calvin, Hobbes is alive. Imagination after all. Hobbes is sarcastic and is the voice reason to Calvin, some times. Together they get in trouble a lot while watching each others backs.  4. BATMAN AND ROBIN The Dynamic Duo. The grim Dark Knight that blends into everything. The optimistic Boy Wonder who is green; red and yellow so he blends into nothing. Night and day most literally. A balance between justice and vengeance. Kindness and punishment. Both keep other from falling off the edge. 3. PINKY AND THE BRAIN These two are white lab mice living at ACME labs. Brain wants to conquer the world as Pinky wants to eat cheese. Brain is a genius and Pinky is crazy. They are friends who do care for each other. The over thought plans never work due to some small detail, but they never give up trying trying. 2. TOM AND JERRY Perhaps one of the greatest cat and mouse teams of all times. Sometimes allies. Sometime even friends. Most of the time, comedic  enemies that like to do the old chase routine. Jerry throwing everything, and sometimes even, the kitchen sink to avoid being eaten by Tom. Tom is the cat after all and in spite of his size and schemes, loses to a tiny mouse, Jerry, more often then not. Most respect Tom's instincts or stupidity for never giving up. Obviously Jerry is the smarter one. And he is the cuter one too. Jerry smiles as Tom tends to frown more often. Weird to see it in reverse. 1. SHAGGY AND SCOOBY-DOO The original buddy team. Ones a laid back slacker and the other is a Great Dane. Both are cowards but somehow are usually the ones to save the day. They don't want to chase mysteries. Get terrorized by wanna be ghosts. They just want to eat and have fun. Friends, Daphne; Fred and Velma are responsible for that vocation. Loyal friends even if Shaggy and Scooby might regret at times.

  • THE SIXTH DOCTOR

The 1980's was an interesting time for Doctor Who. By 1984, the Television series had been on the air in Great Britain (BBC Television) since November 23rd, 1963. Colin Baker was picked to be The Sixth incarnation of The Time Lord in 1984. Changing the lead was not something that happened often at the time. What I mean by that is most genres may allow you to change characters but not keep the same character played by such a different actor. The character is at the root is basically the same, but the setup begs for everything else to change radically. The show was becoming more violent at this point too. The body count was huge from story to story.Characters were written to be killed off. This tactic served to play with audiences emotions as longer stories and episodes allowed more development. Topics included Child Kidnapping; Body Mutilation; Torture; Assault; Cannibalism; Mutations; Disfigurements; Massive Violence; Intense Scenes of Murder and Body Horror. All this in the first seventeen episodes of The Colin Baker Era. Strangest part is how The Doctor was now resorting to violence instead of trying to find non violent solutions as to reflect his skill; talents and intelligence. As for The 6th Doctor. He is eccentric and overly maniac. Completely unpredictable. Prone to random acts of kindness to swing into brutal violence stacked with sarcasm. Grieving the loss of a life then making rude jokes about limbs blowing off. Unstable is an understatement. The costume is hard to look at. Producer at the time, John Nathan-Turner, wanted the audience to being to look right at number six and see that he was a stitched together mess. Nothing matches. The costume designer tried desperately to make the outfit at least mesh together with multiple attempts. The one you see was the one she thought would be turned down as an extreme and thus a earlier design be chosen. That did not happened. Baker would do a total of thirty one television episodes over three seasons. Story wise we are looking at eleven stories broken into multi-parts. Trial of a Time Lord was a fourteen part long story chopped into four chunks. He took over the role from Peter Davison at the tail end of Season 21 aired in 1984. Season 22 would change from half hour to forty five minute episodes playing once a week instead of twice weekly as previously. Most seasons were somewhere between twenty six to twenty eight episodes. That was halved in season 22 with thirteen being produced. After an eighteen month cancellation, the show came back in 1986, still on Saturdays but back to a half hour slot with now fourteen episodes. Ratings had become poor due to violence; low production quality; being off air for so long and season 23 appearing to be disjointed. Remeber, season 22 was still okay, but not breaking records. Staying roughly in the six million for each episode which was, again, okay. Season 23, we stated to see 5 million and lower for the rest of the shows run until it ended in 1989. Would return in 2005 and stayed alive in other media in that sixteen year gap. 23rd season did improve with more comedy and less violence but the wounds were there. Sadly, the BBC fired Colin Baker before the 1987 season. Baker was played by Sylvester McCoy, 7th Doctor, for the regeneration as Baker refused to return to film a hand over. You will notice the list has twelve stories. Trust me when I say there is a great reason for that. The twelfth story on list is 'Real Time'. It was a web animated story shown online in 2002. Canonically takes place after Colin Baker's Television run. Costume was now blue with a different companion. The Audio production studio, 'Big Finish', created this story which shows that stories for each Doctor could be made to fill in gaps and continue story lines left behind by the show. Speaking 'Big Finish', Baker would get a justified full run of stories as The Sixth Doctor'. We would see him grown into a kinder character still prone to acts of oddity but not maniac as before. As an audio story, the audience would also see Baker get a 'Final' story to lead into The Seventh Doctor era.Colin Baker would return many times for charity events and audio stories where his popularity has grown. I personally liked Colin Baker as Doctor Who. In spite of the eccentricity to the tenth power Baker showed true charisma in my opinion. A bit cartoonish at times with a sense of urgency. Loved his voice and that smile which shows he is The Doctor. So much enthusiasm no matter what ridiculous lines he may have to say.  The costume did him no good. 1. Twin Dilemma (1984: Season 21: episodes 23-26: 22 minutes: 4-parter) 2. Attack of the Cybermen: (1985: Season 22: episodes 1-2: 45 minutes: 2-parter) 3. Revelation of the Daleks (1985: Season 22: episodes 12-13: 45 minutes: 2-parter) 8. Trial of A Time Lord: The Mysterious Planet (1986: Season 23: episodes 1-4: 22 minutes: 4 parter) 9. Trial of A Time Lord: Ultimate Foe (1986: Season 23: episode 13-14: 2-parter) 12. Real Time (2002: Web series: Approximately 22 minutes: 6-parter)

  • SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

By loving God, you find the way to love others and yourself. To follow God you sacrifice the elements of the material world and find so much more that fills your life. Shake off the hurt and the pain. And remember, one way to God. One way to Heaven. That is Jesus Christ. Christ is for everyone and welcomes everyone. You just got to turn around and be willing to see. The hard part about faith is remembering that it is Faith and not just about rules of religious guidelines. Check out your Bible to see what I mean. Some worry about how Faith is not diverse enough. Not tailored to each. Again, read that Bible and see if that is true. You be surprised how it speaks to the individual. Diversity is not skin deep. It lies in the mind; what we believe or not. What we love or not. Our soul is where individuality begins not in the body. The soul is not a copy and paste item on the keyboard. That is what makes us irreplaceable. And if we can’t see the individual or how bless that is, then we are blind.

  • MY TOP TEN FAVORITE SCOOBY DOO INSPIRED ANIMATED SHOWS

'Scooby Doo Where Are You?' came out in 1968. Hanna Barbara struck gold with this show. A Great Dane teamed up with two guys and two girls (all teenagers). One is the leader, Fred, who always has a plan. Velma, the smart one who can think through the problems. Daphne, well meaning but a bit clumsy and pretty. And Shaggy, the comic relief. He and Scooby Doo (The Dog) are coward who want to get out of trouble and eat. Funny enough, Scooby and Shaggy are the ones who save the day much of the time. A simple concept that proved so successful that there would many clones. Many created by Hanna Barbara. All these shows tried the same formula. Anthropomorphic character and a group of teenager/young adults solving mysteries. Simple enough to follow, but none of copies would last for long. Here is my little list of what I feel did the best with the cause. 10. Clue Club (Clue Club) Four teenage detectives, the Clue Club: Larry (The leader), Pepper (pretty girl), D.D. (comic relief) and Dottie (the smart one) with the help of two talking dogs, a bloodhound and basset hound named Woofer and Wimper. Woofer is bossy and whimper is a bit of a coward. 9. Buford Files (1978) Buford, a lazy bloodhound with a nose for solving mysteries with the teenage Boggs twins, Cindy Mae and Woody, in the Fenokee swamp. 8. Rickety Rocket (1979-1980) Four Black Teenagers: Sunstroke, Splashdown, Cosmo and Venus build a makeshift sentient talking rocket to solve crimes in the far future. 7. Funky Phantom (1971-1972) Three teenagers: Skip (smart one/leader), April (pretty girl), and Skip's best friend, Augie (the muscle) and his dog Elmo, solve mysteries with two ghosts. Two Revolutionary War-era ghosts: an American patriot named Jonathan Wellington Muddlemore, whom the kids call "Mudsy", and his cat Boo. The Teens found them 6. Goober and The Ghost Chasers (1973-1975) Three teenagers—Ted, Gilly and Tina—solve mysteries with Goober, a gaunt green-colored Saluki who can become invisible. 5. Speed Buggy (1973-1974) The show follows an orange anthropomorphic dune buggy  who alongside teenagers Debbie, Mark, and Tinker, solves mysteries while participating in racing competitions around the world. 4. Together they tour their underwater world solving crimes that they stumble upon.underwater civilization. 2. Fang Face (1978-1980) Four teenagers: Biff (The Leader), Kim (The smart one and Biff's girlfriend), Puggsy (Tough Guy) and Sherman (simpleton/coward).The trick with this one is, Sherman turns into Fangface the werewolf when he sees a full moon.  1. Inch High Private High Eye (1973) Due to a shrinking potion, Inch, is a miniature detective, teams up with his niece, Lori, her muscle-bound sweetheart Gator, and their dog Braveheart to solve mysteries.

  • THE VARIOUS REOCCURRING DUOS FROM 'THE PEANUTS'

Yeah, Charles Schulz had a tendency of pairing up his characters for particular story lines that continued on for decades in some cases. Each revisited from time to time that worked for building this beloved cast. 1. Charlie Brown and Snoopy: Snoopy is Charlie Brown's dog who acts more like a brother. Always gets the best of his owner. Snoopy is loyal to his Charlie Brown. 2. Charlie Brown and Linus: Best Friends though Linus is slightly younger. Linus offers Charlie Brown sage advice on loads of topics. 3. Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty: Peppermint Patty always seems to like Charlie Brown as she calls him, 'Chuck' and makes references of how he is 'Sly Dog' 4. Charlie Brown and Lucy: Lucy is a huge critic of Charlie Brown who always convinces Mr. Brown to try to kick the ball even though she always will pull it away at the last moment. 5. Linus and Lucy: Brother and sister. She thinks his a bit of a baby. In spite of being smart and younger, Linus does carry a blue blanket. She tries to break him of that with very little success, ever. 6. Snoopy and Woodstock: Best friends to the end. Woodstock flies upside down with his head a bit dizzy at times, but will help out Snoopy always. Snoopy watches Woodstock's back too as again, Woodstock flies upside down. 7. Lucy and Schroeder: Schroeder plays a small piano. Loves Beethoven and Lucy loves Schroeder. Schroeder does not like Lucy. She spends much of the time hanging with him, at his piano, frankly telling him she is not a fan of classical music abd he seems not to care. 8. Peppermint Patty and Marcy: Patty the Tom Boy has a buddy that is very robotic. Bland even but loyal. Marcy is a very proper speaking intellect. Always calls Patty, 'Sir'. Very much a sidekick/minion. 9. Linus and Sally: Carlie Brown's little sister, Sally, is madly in love with Linus. She calls him, her 'Sweet Baboo'. Linus does not share this obsession she has. 10. Rerun and his mom: Linus and Lucy's little brother, who looks like Linus, Rerun provides commentary on the back of his mom's bicycle as they run errands together. We never see his mom. 11. Rerun and Snoopy: Rerun wants a dog and Snoopy is a dog that Rerun has his eyes set on. 12. Charlie Brown and Peggy Jean: Charlie Brown had a girlfriend he met at Summer Camp. She thinks his name is 'Brownie Charles due to him stumbli9ng over his words. 13. Charlie Brown and The Little Red Headed Girl: We never know her name but she bares a resemblance to Peggy Jean. This would be the first girl that Charlie Brown would have a crush on. 14. Peppermint Patty and Snoopy: Buddies as they share an interest in sports. Patty thinks Snoopy is Charlie Brown's ugly friend. 15. Charlie Brown and Sally: Brother and sister dynamic. Charlie Brown tries to be patient with his little sister who can be quite annoying. Only calls him, 'Big Brother'.
